About Me
Hello, I’m Sharron. Photographer, storyteller and someone who has spent a rather ridiculous amount of time looking for beautiful light.
Before becoming a wedding photographer, I worked as a journalist at the BBC, working on programmes including Question Time and Newsround (which I loved)! I’ve always been fascinated by people, their stories and all the things happening just outside the main event.
These days I tell stories with a camera rather than words.
For over 15 years, I’ve photographed weddings across London and the UK, finding beauty in unexpected places, watching for the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed and making photographs that are a little cinematic, sometimes unconventional and always full of feeling.
I’m drawn to beautiful light, interesting compositions and the wonderfully unpredictable nature of people. I love analogue film, music that tells a good story and photographs that make you stop and look twice.
But perhaps I should explain where all this comes from…

How it started…

My dad had an incredible brain. He was brilliant at quizzes, remembered the most wonderfully obscure facts and could tell a story that kept everyone listening.
My mum was endlessly creative. She was always cooking something unusual, making something by hand or redesigning the house. Her memory, though, was never quite as reliable and later, she lived with dementia.
Somewhere between the two of them, I exist.
A storyteller. A maker of things. Someone who has become increasingly aware of just how fragile our memories can be.
Watching my mum gradually lose hers changed the way I think about photographs. They became something more than pictures. They were evidence of a life lived, of relationships, places and moments that might otherwise disappear.
It’s something that has stayed with me, both personally and creatively.
And perhaps explains why I’m so interested in the things we don’t always think to photograph.

The ART of seeing
I spent years working as a journalist at the BBC before retraining in photojournalism. I eventually found myself photographing a friend’s wedding. I made her a little album afterwards and she cried when she saw it. That was pretty much that. I was hooked.
Fast forward more than 15 years and I’m still photographing weddings, although the way I approach them has changed quite a bit.
I’ve recently completed an MA in Photography at Falmouth University, which has given me the chance to experiment, challenge myself and explore photography beyond weddings.
I love watching films and my photography is very influenced by that. But, for me, weddings are about people, and that’s what I love most about them. The personalities, the relationships and all the wonderfully unpredictable things that happen when you get everyone together.
After all these years, I’ve become pretty good at knowing when to get involved and when to leave things alone. I’ll offer a little direction when it’s needed, but mostly I want you to enjoy yourselves while I get on with making photographs.
And hopefully some really interesting ones at that.
Shall we make something wonderful?
If you’re looking for someone who will photograph your wedding with curiosity, care and a slightly different perspective, I’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to know how to pose or spend hours in front of the camera. You just need to have a brilliant day with your favourite people.
I’ll take care of the photographs.
